Mr. Khan is the Founder and Managing Principal of Stabilis Capital Management, LP. Since late 2010, Stabilis has raised five separate investment vehicles with total capital commitments in excess of $1.7 billion:
- Stabilis Fund I, Fund II, Fund III, Fund IV, and Performing Loan Fund have been harvested or are in the harvesting stage, with attractive risk-adjusted returns to date. Stabilis Fund V is in the investment period.
- The Performing Loan Fund has returned all capital to investors and exceeded its targeted investment returns.
Prior to forming Stabilis, Mr. Khan spent 12 years at Goldman Sachs and 6 years at Silver Point Capital, where he started and ran the US and Latin American loan acquisition businesses with investment strategies similar to Stabilis, investing over $5 billion of capital:
2001 – 2010:
$1 billion at Silver Point Capital and Goldman Sachs in the US small/middle market commercial loan space.
1992 – 2001:
$3 billion at Goldman Sachs in the consumer, residential and commercial loan space.
Mr. Khan graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University and earned his MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
