Our Team


Mr. Khan is the Founder and Managing Principal of Stabilis Capital Management, LP. Since late 2010, Stabilis has raised five separate investment vehicles with total capital commitments in excess of $1.7 billion:

  • Stabilis Fund I, Fund II, Fund III, Fund IV, and Performing Loan Fund have been harvested or are in the harvesting stage, with attractive risk-adjusted returns to date. Stabilis Fund V is in the investment period.
  • The Performing Loan Fund has returned all capital to investors and exceeded its targeted investment returns.

Prior to forming Stabilis, Mr. Khan spent 12 years at Goldman Sachs and 6 years at Silver Point Capital, where he started and ran the US and Latin American loan acquisition businesses with investment strategies similar to Stabilis, investing over $5 billion of capital:

2001 – 2010:

$1 billion at Silver Point Capital and Goldman Sachs in the US small/middle market commercial loan space.

1992 – 2001:

$3 billion at Goldman Sachs in the consumer, residential and commercial loan space.

Mr. Khan graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University and earned his MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Tuso is the General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer of Stabilis Capital Management and oversees all legal, compliance and operational matters for Stabilis.  Additionally, Mr. Tuso monitors Stabilis’ third-party relationships with external service providers such as lawyers, compliance professionals, brokers, accountants and fund administrators.  Prior to joining Stabilis, Mr. Tuso was a partner at Reed Smith LLP.  During his decade at Reed Smith, his practice focused primarily on litigation, workouts, insolvency and bankruptcy, due diligence and risk management for banks and other commercial financial institutions, as well as large commercial real estate developers. 

Mr. Tuso earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh Law School, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude, was inducted into the Order of the Coif, and was the Business Manager of the University of Pittsburgh Law School Law Review.

Mr. Nemeth leads the firm's efforts in underwriting analysis and asset due diligence. In his role, he has overseen the underwriting of over $20 billion of opportunites for Stabilis. Prior to joining Stabilis, Mr. Nemeth helped manage over $20 billion in commercial whole loan positions at Morgan Stanley. 

Mr. Nemeth received an MS in Real Estate Finance & Investment from New York University.
